When I’m shooting along the Los Angeles coastline, I never really know what kind of sunset I’m going to get. Some evenings fade quietly, soft and understated, and others erupt into colour so intense it almost stops you mid-stride. This evening leaned toward the latter, slipping into that deep golden glow that washes over the Pacific and makes the whole horizon feel alive.
What caught my eye here wasn’t just the sun dropping into the sea—it was the sheer clarity of that sphere of light as it hovered above the water. The air along this stretch of California usually has a bit of haze, especially at dusk, but this moment felt unusually clean. The sun sat there like a glowing coin, suspended in a sky that shifted from mellow orange near the horizon to richer, deeper tones as it stretched upward.
Standing there with my camera, I watched the surface of the ocean pick up those warm reflections. The waves weren’t dramatic—just steady, rolling texture catching the last bits of light. That shimmering pattern is what gives this scene its atmosphere. You can feel the warmth, but you can also sense the wind coming off the water. It’s that subtle contrast that keeps a simple sunset from feeling flat.
Just as I started framing, a small group of birds crossed the open sky—a tiny detail, but one that gives scale and life to the scene. I’ve always liked including these little markers of movement when the rest of the frame is so still. They remind you that even when the light feels perfect and unmoving, the coastline is never truly quiet.
Los Angeles sunsets can be chaotic with crowds, but I’ve learned to step a little away from the busiest stretches. When I find pockets like this—open, uncluttered, nothing but the sea and sky—it lets me build an image that feels calm without losing the energy of the coast. That’s what I wanted to bring forward here: the warmth, the simplicity, and the openness of a West Coast evening.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
