Classic Taxi Waiting Amid Old Havana Nightlife
Havana changes after dark. The streets do not become quiet; they become more concentrated. Light spills from doorways, engines move through narrow lanes, people drift in and out of view, and the old buildings seem to absorb every bit of noise and motion. I photographed this classic taxi on location in Havana as that nighttime energy gathered around it.
The car holds the center of the scene, but it is not isolated from the city. It sits within the flow of people, motorcycles, headlights, wet pavement, balconies, shutters, ironwork, and worn stone. That relationship is what gives the photograph its strength. It is part of my broader black and white Cuba photography, yet this image is less about the familiar idea of a Cuban automobile and more about how Havana actually felt to me after dark.
I chose black and white because the structure of the scene mattered more than its color. Without the warm street tones competing for attention, the rounded taxi, chrome bumper, glowing roof sign, and reflective pavement become more pronounced. The stationary car feels almost sculptural against the blurred movement around it. Light strikes the hood and windshield, then falls away into the darker street and weathered façades.
Within my Havana wall art collection, this photograph stands apart because it carries both stillness and movement. The taxi appears grounded and solid, while the people and passing traffic give the street a restless pulse. I remember that contrast clearly. There was always something happening just beyond the edge of the frame, and the city never felt fully settled.
This image works especially well for someone drawn to classic cars, historic cities, travel, and urban photography with a strong sense of place. In a room, the broad dark areas create weight while the illuminated taxi provides a clear visual anchor. The monochrome palette makes it adaptable to modern, industrial, traditional, or masculine interiors without reducing the character of the scene.
Each limited edition print is personally signed by me and includes a certificate of authenticity. I print the photograph with archival pigment inks on Premium archival paper, with close attention to the separation between the deep shadows, reflective chrome, glowing doorways, and textured pavement. Those details matter in a physical print, where the image needs to hold the room from a distance and still offer something new when viewed closely.
The image also belongs among my night street photography prints, where light, movement, and lived urban atmosphere shape the story.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
