United States Maine Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Black And White Coastal Architecture Serene Wall Art | Limited Edition of 10
This black-and-white photograph was taken at Pemaquid Point on the coast of Maine, where the historic lighthouse stands above the Atlantic, anchored to rock and shoreline. In this view, the lighthouse and keeper’s house sit quietly against open water and sky, forming a scene defined by structure, space, and restraint rather than drama.
Stripped of colour, the image becomes about relationships—solid forms against open sea, the softness of sky meeting the weight of stone and wood. The lighthouse rises with purpose, while the surrounding buildings and fencing introduce a sense of scale and human presence without distraction. The textures are subtle but deliberate: weathered surfaces, dark ground, and the smooth tonal gradient stretching across the horizon.
Pemaquid Point has a different energy than more remote island locations. It feels grounded and enduring, shaped by generations of exposure to wind, salt, and time. Standing on the rocks here, there’s a sense of permanence rather than isolation—a feeling that this place has been watching the coastline long before anyone arrived to photograph it.
This image works exceptionally well in spaces that favour calm and clarity—offices, studies, living areas, or anywhere neutral tones and architectural subjects feel at home. The balanced composition and black-and-white palette allow it to sit comfortably without overpowering a room, offering presence without noise.
This photograph was created on location through real travel and lived experience. I personally sign each print and include a certificate of authenticity confirming it as an original, artist-made photograph.
