Weathered Prairie Truck Surrounded By Wild Wheat
There are places on the Canadian prairie where time doesn’t feel like it moves forward so much as it settles. The wind passes through the wheat, clouds roll across an enormous sky, and the remnants of another era remain where they were left. This photograph came from one of those quiet discoveries in rural Saskatchewan.
The truck itself had clearly been sitting for decades. Its body was slowly surrendering to rust, the grille still intact but bent with age, and tall prairie weeds had pushed their way up through the open engine compartment and around the cab. What struck me immediately wasn’t just the vehicle, but how naturally it had become part of the landscape. It no longer felt like machinery. It felt like a relic embedded in the prairie itself.
I composed the image so the truck anchors the foreground while the land stretches endlessly behind it. Saskatchewan is known for its immense horizon lines, and here the wheat field carries the eye outward until it meets a distant band of land beneath a dramatic sky. Above it all, massive prairie clouds build across the frame, adding weight and movement to what would otherwise be a very quiet rural scene.
The black-and-white treatment felt inevitable. Colour would have distracted from the textures that define the image: the rough rust on the truck’s metal, the tangled prairie grass wrapping around its wheels, and the layered clouds pressing down across the sky. Without colour, those textures become the story. Every surface reveals its age, every shadow adds depth, and the truck becomes something more symbolic than mechanical.
Moments like this are the reason I spend so much time exploring back roads and forgotten corners of the countryside. This photograph was captured on location during one of those drives across Saskatchewan, where I followed rural roads until something stopped me. Standing there beside the truck, wind moving through the grass, it felt like stepping into a small piece of prairie history.
I personally sign each print and include a certificate of authenticity. The image is produced using archival pigment inks on museum-quality photographic paper to ensure long-term permanence and detail faithful to the original capture.

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
