Weathered Wooden Church Standing Alone On Open Prairie
There’s something about a building like this that stops me in my tracks. Out here on the Saskatchewan prairie, the land stretches endlessly in every direction, and then suddenly—this. A lone wooden church, worn by decades of wind, sun, and silence, still stands long after the community that built it has faded into memory.
What struck me first was the texture. The peeling paint, the warped boards, the slight lean of the structure—it all tells a story without saying a word. The bell tower rises above it, simple and functional, yet still holding a quiet sense of purpose. Even now, it feels like it’s waiting and waiting for footsteps that will never come, for a door that hasn’t opened in years.
The black-and-white treatment strips everything down to its essentials—no distractions, no colour pulling your eye away—just form, contrast, and time. The sky moves softly behind it, streaked with subtle cloud patterns that give the scene a sense of motion, while the building itself remains grounded, unmoving, almost defiant.
I photographed this on location while traveling through rural Saskatchewan, stopping whenever something felt worth pulling over for. This wasn’t planned. It was one of those moments when the road gave you something unexpected, and you knew immediately it mattered. Standing there, I could feel the history of the place—not in a romantic way, but in a real, grounded sense of time passing and things being left behind.
Each limited edition print is personally signed and includes a certificate of authenticity, tying it directly back to the moment it was captured. Printed using archival pigment inks on museum-quality paper, the details hold beautifully—from the grain of the wood to the soft gradients in the sky.
This is the kind of image that works in a quiet space. A study, a hallway, a room where you want something that feels grounded and reflective. It’s not loud, but it carries weight. It invites you to pause, to look a little longer, to think about what came before and what remains.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
