Weathered Prairie Structures Beneath Expansive Cloud-Filled Sky
There’s something about old prairie buildings that stops me every time. Not because they’re dramatic in an obvious way—but because they feel honest. What you’re looking at here are two abandoned farm structures sitting quietly in the open land just outside Hedley in British Columbia. No fences holding things together anymore, no fresh paint trying to preserve anything—just wood, wind, and time doing what they always do.
I remember walking up to these buildings and immediately noticing the texture. The boards have split and warped, the windows hang loose, and parts of the structure have given up. And yet, they’re still standing. There’s a kind of resilience here that you don’t get from anything modern. The farm equipment between the buildings, rusted and forgotten, adds another layer—like the last trace of activity that once gave this place purpose.
The sky that day mattered just as much as the buildings themselves. Thick, rolling clouds filled the frame, giving the entire scene weight. In black and white, it all simplifies into tone and contrast—the rough grain of the wood against the softness of the sky, the dark openings of the windows against the pale grass moving in the wind. It becomes less about colour and more about structure, mood, and memory.
This was photographed on location during my time exploring rural British Columbia, driving roads that most people pass without stopping. These are the places I tend to linger. Not for what they used to be, but for what they’ve become. Every crack, every broken panel, every leaning angle tells a story without needing anything added.
Each print is part of a limited edition of 10, personally signed by me, and includes a certificate of authenticity. It’s printed using archival pigment inks on professional-grade paper designed to hold detail and tonal depth for decades.
As a piece for a space, this works particularly well in offices, studies, or any room that benefits from a sense of history and quiet presence. It’s not loud. It doesn’t demand attention. But the longer you look at it, the more it pulls you in.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
