1950s Chevrolet Parked On Grass Beside Historic Route 66
There is something about the front end of a 1950s American car that stops me in my tracks. The chrome. The symmetry. The unapologetic confidence in the design. Standing in front of this vintage Chevrolet in Gardner, Illinois, I found myself studying the details the way a sculptor might study form. The wide chrome grille stretches across the nose like a grin, framed by round headlights that feel almost expressive. Beneath them, the heavy bumper guards rise like small chrome pillars, giving the entire car a sense of weight and presence.
In monochrome, the shapes become even more striking. Without color competing for attention, the curves of the hood, the thin pinstriping running down the center, and the layered metalwork across the grille take over the frame. The reflections across the polished chrome shift subtly with the light, while the darker paint absorbs the surrounding landscape. Behind the car, the quiet Midwestern trees and open grass create a calm backdrop that lets the machine dominate the scene.
This photograph was made during one of my Route 66 explorations through Illinois. Gardner is one of those small towns where time seems to pause for a moment, and old automotive history still lives quietly in garages and backyards. While I was photographing around town, I met the owner of this car. He told me stories about growing up with it, and he generously showed me around his workshop, where he was restoring several vintage trucks and cars. It was the kind of encounter that reminds me why traveling with a camera often leads to conversations you could never plan.
What struck me most while standing there was how these cars were designed to be seen head-on. From this perspective, the Chevrolet almost feels like a mechanical portrait—broad, confident, and unmistakably American. The lines are bold, the metalwork deliberate, and every piece of chrome serves both form and function. Even the license plate anchors the image with a subtle sense of time and place.
Each print of this photograph is personally signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. The image is produced using archival pigment inks on archival fine art paper to preserve the depth of tone and detail found in the original scene.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
