When I first looked down over the Alaska Coast from the bush plane, the landscape felt almost otherworldly. From above, the rivers carve through the earth in wide, sweeping motions, creating shapes that look more like drawn lines than flowing water. The scene below had this natural rhythm to it—sediment fanning out into delicate curves, channels twisting and converging, and textures shifting with every subtle change in tide. It was one of those rare moments when the land seems to reveal a hidden structure you can’t quite appreciate from the ground.
What struck me immediately was how alive the patterns were. In monochrome, the movement becomes even more pronounced. Light clings to the smooth sandbars, while deeper channels recede into darker tones, giving the whole image a layered depth. The coastline here is constantly reshaping itself, and from the air, you get this fleeting glimpse of a landscape in motion, paused just long enough to photograph.
This photograph came from an Alaskan bear photography tour, where a bush plane is often the only way to move between remote stretches of the coast. That perspective—brief, elevated, and utterly dependent on the natural conditions—creates an honesty that I love in aerial work. Nothing is staged or arranged. You respond to what the land offers in that moment. The changing winds, the shifting light, the sudden appearance of texture where the river cuts through silt—those details become part of the final piece.
What I appreciate most about this scene is its blend of clarity and abstraction. You can see the coastline's actual structure, but the shapes invite the mind to wander. Viewers often tell me they notice something new every time they return to it: a secondary channel they didn’t see before, a pattern in the sediment that suddenly resembles a contour, or a subtle gradation in tone that shifts depending on the lighting in the room. That interaction is what makes imagery like this work so well on a wall—it rewards curiosity.
This photograph was created entirely on location, drawn from real experience in the Alaskan wilderness. Each print is signed by hand and comes with a certificate of authenticity, making it a genuine record of a moment observed rather than imagined.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
