Chrome Antenna Rising Above Vintage Tail Light Geometry
Classic cars often reveal their personality in the smallest details. In this photograph, the entire composition revolves around a thin chrome antenna rising from the hood of a vintage automobile. The antenna stands sharp and precise while the rest of the scene fades into soft focus behind it. Just below, the polished metal base reflects the surrounding shapes and light, sitting on a hood that carries the subtle sparkle of dust catching the overhead illumination.
Behind the antenna, the car’s taillights form a pair of circular shapes that glow softly through the shallow depth of field. They are recognizable but intentionally blurred, turning them into abstract forms rather than literal features of the vehicle. The design language of mid-century automobiles becomes clear here: sweeping chrome lines, sculpted metal surfaces, and circular lights that feel more like industrial sculpture than transportation. Even in monochrome, the surfaces hold a remarkable amount of tonal richness.
What drew me to this moment was the contrast of shapes. The antenna is a thin vertical line, almost needle-like in its simplicity. Beneath it sits a rounded chrome base, and below that, the circular tail lights anchor the frame. Line, sphere, and circle create a quiet rhythm that pulls the viewer’s eye through the image. At the same time, the hood’s gentle curves guide the light across the metal surface, revealing reflections and subtle textures that might otherwise go unnoticed.
This photograph was made on location in Toronto while walking through a gathering of classic automobiles. I spent time slowly moving around the vehicles, looking for small design elements that most people pass by without noticing. Rather than photographing the entire car, I focused on a single detail that captured the elegance and craftsmanship of the era. Standing there among rows of vintage cars, the antenna rising from the hood felt like a small sculptural object in its own right.
Images like this tend to appeal to people who enjoy refined automotive design and understated wall art. The photograph does not rely on a dramatic full view of the vehicle; instead, it highlights form, reflection, and geometry. In a home office, garage, or modern living space, the composition works as a minimalist study of chrome and shape while still clearly referencing classic car culture.
I personally sign each print and include a certificate of authenticity. The image is produced using archival pigment inks to ensure long-lasting detail and tonal depth in the monochrome finish.

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
