Clown Wall Art

I approach Clown Wall Art through the meeting of a performed character and the expression that remains visible beneath it. A festival portrait, a masked performer, and a puppet in a window each give this small collection a different kind of presence. Makeup, costume, and a shaped face can create humour, uncertainty, or a quieter mood, depending on the gesture and setting. I look for the detail that keeps the photograph from becoming only a record of a costume. Clown Wall Art connects with my Festival Wall Art and People Wall Art collections for more photographs of character, expression, and the ways people appear in public.
