Civil Rights Wall Art

I approach Civil Rights Wall Art through photographs of public expression, where faces, signs, and the surrounding street all contribute to the scene. Pride demonstrations, protest portraits, and the political walls of Derry give this collection different ways of looking at visible statements in public space. Some images centre on a person; others let words and architecture carry more of the picture. I look for the relationship between a message and the place in which it appears, keeping the photograph open to close observation. Civil Rights Wall Art connects with my Protest Wall Art and Street Photography Wall Art collections for related documentary scenes and everyday surroundings.
