When I wander into the forests around Haliburton after a fresh snowfall, I never know quite what I’ll find. Some days feel chaotic, a tangle of branches and wind-blown drifts. But every so often, I step into a scene that seems to settle the whole world down, and this was one of those moments. The trees stood in perfect stillness, rising in long vertical lines that seemed to stretch forever. The snow softened the forest floor, leaving only faint traces of young saplings and the occasional bent twig pushing through the surface. With the light overcast and the air clean and cold, the whole scene shifted toward a soft monochrome that felt both modern and timeless.
I’ve spent countless hours exploring these Haliburton stands, and the repetition of the trunks always stops me in my tracks. There’s something deeply calming about the structure of it all—those tall, narrow lines arranged like an endless architectural grid. When the forest gets this quiet, you almost start to hear your own thoughts echo back at you. I’m always drawn to compositions like this because they turn something familiar into something unexpectedly graphic. The uniformity of the trees becomes the subject, but the subtle variations—the texture of the bark, the angle of a sapling, the faint haze of distant trunks—add enough personality to keep your eye moving.
The winter light here plays a big part in the mood. On a brighter day, the snow reflects so much contrast that the spaces between the trees can feel harsh. This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
