I came across this barn on a cold Ontario morning, the kind where everything feels muted under a fresh layer of snow. The landscape had that quiet weight to it—no wind, no movement, just a stillness that settles into the ground and lingers. The barn stood slightly off to the side, not abandoned, but clearly carrying the marks of time. Weathered wood, uneven textures, and a roofline softened by snow all worked together in a way that felt completely honest.
What drew me in immediately was the contrast. The snow flattened everything into a calm, almost blank canvas, while the barn itself held onto every detail—every groove in the wood, every irregular plank, every subtle shift in tone. The trees behind it framed the structure without competing, their bare branches dusted with snow, adding depth without distraction. It’s a simple scene, but not an empty one. A lot is happening here if you take the time to look.
I chose to work this in black and white because color would have pulled attention away from what really matters—the texture, the structure, and the mood. The absence of color forces your eye into the details. You start to notice the grain of the wood, the weight of the snow on the roof, the quiet rhythm of the trees behind it. It becomes less about a place and more about a feeling.
I’ve spent years exploring rural areas across Canada, and scenes like this always stop me. There’s something grounded about them. No distractions, no noise—just a structure that’s been standing there through seasons, storms, and time itself. This was photographed on location during one of those slow drives where I’m not chasing anything specific, just paying attention to what’s there.
Each print is produced with archival pigment inks on museum-quality paper, signed by me, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It’s a direct reflection of a real place, a real moment, captured exactly as it existed.
This piece works well in spaces that lean toward calm, neutral tones—living rooms, offices, or anywhere that benefits from a sense of quiet and structure. It’s not loud, but it holds presence. The kind of image that doesn’t demand attention, but keeps it once you notice it.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
