Weathered Rural Church Standing Alone On Open Prairie
I came across this small church sitting quietly in the open prairie of Manitoba, surrounded by nothing but grass, sky, and distance. There was no dramatic light, no storm rolling in, no obvious moment to chase. Just a structure that had been standing there for years, slowly weathering, slowly fading, and somehow still holding its place in the landscape.
The first thing that caught my attention was the texture. The peeling paint across the wood siding told its own story, layer by layer. You can see where time has worked its way into every surface—the doors, the windows, the roofline. Even the old tank mounted to the side feels like it belongs to another era, something functional once, now just part of the scene. Nothing about this building feels staged or preserved. It simply exists as it is.
The green roof adds a subtle contrast against the otherwise muted tones of the prairie. It doesn’t dominate, but it gives the structure just enough presence to stand apart from the surrounding land. The grass, moving softly across the foreground, adds a sense of motion against an otherwise still subject. And then there’s the sky—wide, quiet, and open. It creates space. It reinforces just how isolated this place really is.
I photographed this on location while travelling through Manitoba, stopping without much planning when I saw it off the roadside. That’s often how these moments happen—no setup, no expectation, just something that feels worth pulling over for. Standing there, it was silent except for the wind moving through the grass. It felt less like discovering a subject and more like coming across something that had been waiting to be noticed.
This image works well in spaces where you want something calm and grounded without being empty. It carries a sense of history and quiet resilience, making it a strong fit for both modern and rustic interiors. It doesn’t demand attention, but it holds it once you give it a moment.
Each limited edition print is personally signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. The image is produced using archival pigment inks to ensure it maintains its tonal depth and detail over time.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
