Warm Evening Light Across the Soft Hills of Tuscany

Some landscapes don’t shout for attention. They simply settle in front of you and let the light do the talking. This scene from Tuscany is exactly that kind of moment. Rolling hills fold into one another like waves that have slowed down and decided to rest for the evening. Long shadows stretch gently across the fields while soft golden light glides across the land. It’s quiet. Balanced. Almost meditative.

The small farmhouse sitting alone on the hill immediately caught my eye. In a place famous for its sweeping countryside, that building becomes the anchor of the entire scene. It feels perfectly placed, almost like a punctuation mark in the landscape. Surrounding it are rows of trees and a distant ridge where another small village rises out of the haze. The farther hills dissolve softly into the atmosphere, creating layers that stretch deeper and deeper into the background.

One of the things I love about Tuscany is how the land itself seems designed for photography. The curves of the fields form natural leading lines that guide your eye across the image. Nothing feels forced. The textures in the soil, the subtle greens beginning to return to the land, and the delicate clouds drifting overhead all work together in a way that feels timeless. Landscapes like this remind me why people have been painting and photographing Tuscany for generations.

I photographed this scene while traveling through the region, exploring the countryside slowly and stopping whenever the light felt right. That’s often how the best images happen for me—not from rushing to a famous viewpoint, but from wandering, watching, and letting the landscape reveal itself. Standing there, watching the sun move across the hills, I knew this quiet farmhouse framed by endless rolling fields was the photograph I had been hoping to find.

This image works beautifully as wall art because of its calm structure and gentle colour palette. The layered hills create depth without overwhelming a space, making it ideal for living rooms, offices, or anywhere you want a sense of openness and calm. It’s a landscape that invites you to slow down and breathe a little deeper each time you look at it.

Each print is produced using archival pigment inks on museum-quality paper to preserve the subtle tones and textures of the scene. I personally sign every print and include a certificate of authenticity so collectors know exactly where the image came from and how it was created.

If you enjoy landscapes that capture the quiet rhythm of rural Italy, you can explore more from this region in my Tuscan countryside wall art.

    Limited Edition of 10

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.

Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.

I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.

Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

    Premium Archival Fine Art Prints

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.

The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.

Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.

Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

    Worldwide Delivery Included

Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.

Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.

Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
