Lioness Hidden In Tall Grass Serengeti Black And White | Limited Edition of 10
Lioness Watching Quietly Through Dense Savannah Grass
This is one of those moments where everything slows down, and you realize just how easily you can miss something right in front of you. At first glance, it’s just grass—endless, textured, and layered across the Serengeti. But then your eye settles, and there she is. A lioness, almost completely concealed, her face breaking through the tangle of dry stems like she’s part of the landscape itself.
What drew me to this scene wasn’t just the subject—it was how well she disappeared. The grass isn’t just background here; it becomes the entire story. It softens her presence, hides her body, and forces you to search for her expression. There’s a quiet tension in that. She’s still, alert, watching. And yet, unless you take a moment, you wouldn’t even know she’s there.
I photographed this in the Serengeti, out in Tanzania, where wildlife doesn’t present itself on cue. You wait, you watch, and sometimes you get these fleeting alignments where subject and environment merge into something stronger than either on its own. This wasn’t staged, and it wasn’t rushed. It was simply being there, paying attention, and recognizing the moment when it appeared.
The black-and-white treatment strips everything down to form and contrast. Without color, the grasses become a field of lines and texture, and her face becomes the anchor point. The tonal range is subtle, but it pulls your focus exactly where it needs to go—her eyes, just visible, just enough to hold your attention.
This piece works well in quieter spaces. Offices, reading rooms, or anywhere that benefits from something understated but layered. It doesn’t demand attention from across the room, but once you notice it, it holds you there. It’s not about spectacle—it’s about discovery.
Each limited edition print is personally signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. The image is produced using archival pigment inks on professional-grade archival paper, ensuring depth, detail, and longevity that holds up over time.
If you’re drawn to wildlife that feels real—not staged, not exaggerated, just observed—this is exactly that. A moment where presence and patience intersected, and the result is something subtle, but lasting.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
Worldwide Delivery Included
Every print is personally produced, inspected, signed, numbered, and carefully packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
