There’s a quiet kind of movement in this scene that doesn’t rush you. The boat cuts through the water with purpose, but everything around it feels still—held in place by the weight of the mountains and the low cloud pressing down from above. I remember standing there along the Inner Passage in British Columbia, watching the way the fog drifted across the treeline, never quite settling, never quite leaving. It’s a place that feels alive, but in a restrained, almost patient way.
The vessel itself becomes the anchor point. Solid, functional, built for work rather than show. The lines are clean but worn just enough to tell you they have seen years on the water. That’s what drew me in—the contrast between the human-made structure and the overwhelming presence of nature behind it. The mountains aren’t just a backdrop here; they dominate the frame, textured with dense forest and softened by mist that seems to erase the edges of everything.
Photographing this meant waiting. The light was flat, but that’s exactly what I wanted. In black and white, the scene shifts away from distraction and leans into tone and structure—the dark hull, the pale fog, the layered ridges of forest climbing into the clouds. I took this on location during a stretch of time moving through coastal British Columbia, where every turn along the water offers something completely different, yet somehow connected.
There’s a calm strength to this image. It doesn’t shout. It sits. That makes it work especially well in spaces where you want presence without noise—offices, living rooms, even quiet corners where you want something to hold your attention without overwhelming it. The balance between industry and wilderness gives it versatility, something that feels grounded but still expansive.
Each print is part of a limited edition of 10, signed by me, and includes a certificate of authenticity. It’s produced using archival pigment inks to ensure the depth and subtle tonal transitions remain exactly as I experienced them in the field.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
