Whenever I wander into downtown Winnipeg, I'm always struck by how the old industrial blocks press right up against the newer high-rises, creating this tight, architectural collage of different eras. That's precisely what pulled me into this scene. The weathered brick, the painted signs fading into the past, the patched fire escapes, and that enclosed walkway bridging two buildings—all of it sits in conversation with the sleek vertical lines behind it. Winnipeg has a way of stacking history in plain sight, and here it's layered so tightly it almost feels like a stage set.
I kept the composition centred on that narrow corridor between the buildings—an opening that feels both inviting and closed off. It gives the photograph a strong sense of depth, drawing your eye through the grit and geometry toward whatever story waits in the back alley. The monochrome treatment brings out the textures: the cracked paint, the uneven brickwork, and the stark transitions between light and shadow that define older industrial structures. Winnipeg's downtown has a particular character, and black and white feels honest to the way these buildings actually breathe.
I photographed this on location during one of my extended wanderings through the city. Something is grounding about slowing down in a place where people usually rush through. This was one of those moments where I had the time to stand still and let the scene settle. Nothing here is staged or fabricated—just authentic Winnipeg architecture, captured as I experienced it. Every print is signed by hand and includes a certificate confirming it as a genuine photographic artwork created by me.
What keeps me coming back to images like this is the quiet tension between what once was and what remains. These older warehouse blocks tell their own stories through scars, repaints, window replacements, and the simple persistence of standing through Winnipeg's weather. When printed large, the photograph becomes a study in textures and tonal shifts—an urban portrait that feels both grounded and slightly cinematic.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
