This innocent young girl is barely visible on the train. The photography tour in India was powerful, to say the least. Despite the obvious poverty and hardships, the people are one of the most beautiful in mind and spirit of anywhere I have traveled.
Train stations are wonderful for photography on any tour. India, however, takes it to a whole new level. The richness of color, texture, people, and shadow and form make, for what seems like an endless them of great street photography.
This young girl on the train waiting to depart was particularly striking. The barely visible young innocent looking girl, juxtaposed with the texture, deep shadows, was enough for a powerful image, But add the word 'emergency exit' and you suddenly find yourself pondering the dual meaning of the word in the context of this train image bound for Bangalore, India.
I make use of a limited color pallet in this image. Which I do in so many of my street photography images. The feel of the image closely resembles a black and white photograph, but with more emotion.
