Soft Light Across Wind Shaped White Dunes
I photographed this wide landscape in Western Australia, where pale sand rolls across the frame in long, soft layers. The dunes are almost white, with delicate tonal shifts created by shallow ridges, wind-shaped curves, and broad bands of shadow. Above them, a blue-gray sky gives the photograph a cool restraint, while a broken line of dark green scrub along the distant ridge keeps the scene from becoming completely abstract.
What interests me most is the balance between simplicity and detail. From a distance, the photograph reads as a quiet study in shape and tone. Look longer and the surface of the sand begins to show subtle texture, faint lines, and small variations in light that reveal the scale of the landscape. The darker foreground shadow creates a gentle visual anchor, while the larger dune on the right rises with a smooth, sculptural form. For collectors drawn to desert wall art photography, this image has the open space and restrained palette I associate with remote Australian landscapes, but without relying on heavy color or dramatic contrast.
I kept the composition broad because the horizontal rhythm is a large part of what gives the photograph its presence. The eye moves from the cooler shadow in the foreground, across the open sand, then toward the vegetation and sky. Nothing feels crowded. The land is doing almost all of the work.
This photograph is offered as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. I print the image with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper so the very light tonal transitions, soft blues, and fine dune textures remain clearly separated in the finished print.
As wall art, I can see this piece working especially well in a minimal, contemporary, or neutral interior where quiet color and open space matter more than visual busyness. It may also appeal to collectors who have traveled through Western Australia, or anyone drawn to desert landscapes shaped by wind, light, and time. Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
