Antique Teapot Still Life
While exploring the small town of Clarence, Bahamas, I found an old home left in and abandoned. Clarence Town is the capital of Long Island, with a population of fewer than 100 people.
Many of the original inhabitants belonging were left untouched for what looks like decades. Thick layers of dust and cobwebs covered the interior of the home.
This one-of-a-kind still-life photographic image features an antique metal teapot sitting on a weathered old shelf. By the look of the pot, it was probably used daily for many decades.
I love the simplicity of this photo, the pot, the shadow, the lines in the wood-paneled walls, and the natural light that puts a soft glow to the scene. When you look at the photographic print, your mind starts to wonder -- why was this left behind? What happened to the people living there? What was their life like in this small wooden home on a tiny island in the Bahamas?
