Antarctica midnight sun
The setting sun casts a glow on mountains in the dramatic Antarctica landscape.
The South Pole experiences dramatic seasonal swings in the sunlight it receives because the Earth’s axis of rotation is tilted around the sun. For six months of the year, the sun never rises, and for six months, it never sets. For photographers, the long days of summer (December) creates great light any time of the day.
In this fine art landscape photograph, you can see the soft red glow of the sky, beautifully illuminating the snow-covered mountain resulting in a calm moody feel - and I shot this at 11 pm.
