Buenos Aires Avenue Traffic Black and White Street Photography
Cars and Buses Beneath Dense Rows of City Windows
The street seems to fill the frame before the buildings do. Cars come forward in close, overlapping rows, while buses form another layer farther back. In this photograph of Buenos Aires, I am drawn to that compression: a busy avenue becomes a meeting of windscreens, rooflines, streetlights and windows, with very little room left between them.
I made the photograph in 2011. The black and white treatment gives the traffic and architecture a shared visual language. Pale vehicle roofs stand against dark windscreens; above them, the repeated windows of the buildings create a steadier pattern. An ornate corner building interrupts that regularity, giving the crowded city view a distinctive point of interest.
Palm trees and leafy branches soften the hard edges without removing the sense of density. My eye moves from the nearest cars into the buses, then upward through signs and facades. The photograph holds those different scales together, from an individual vehicle at the front to the larger arrangement of the avenue behind it.
This is a city photograph with movement built into its composition. I see its appeal in the ordinary traffic that makes Buenos Aires feel inhabited: a street full of vehicles, buildings close around them, and details that emerge as you spend time with the image. Its monochrome tones suit a room where urban photography can bring energy through shape and repetition.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
