Blue Ontario Barn Wall in Snow Colour Photography
Weathered Boards and Small Windows Between White Bands
Blue was the reason I looked more closely at this barn. Across the upper wall, faded paint breaks into uneven patches, while the boards below show a warmer, darker wood. I photographed the rural Ontario building on a snowy day in 2018, letting that uncommon colour become the centre of the image.
This is a close view of the side rather than a portrait of the entire farm. Snow forms a broad white band above the wall and another along the ground. Between them, the siding divides into clear horizontal sections: blue boards, brown wood and pale metal at the bottom. I like the contrast between that simple arrangement and the varied wear within each surface.
The windows keep the pattern from becoming too regular. Two small framed windows sit low in the wooden section, while a larger dark opening interrupts the blue boards above. Fine flakes cross that opening, making the snowfall easier to notice. The glass and pale frames also provide a quieter kind of detail beside the rough grain and peeling paint.
What caught my attention was how many different textures could belong to such a straightforward building. The photograph holds snow, wood, paint, glass and metal together without needing a wider countryside view. It is a winter barn image with a strong graphic structure and a modest, worn character, suited to someone who enjoys rural architecture and colour that comes from the subject itself.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
