A Solitary Figure Framed By Light And Repeating Lines
I made this black-and-white photograph while moving through Hanoi Airport in Vietnam on my way to board a flight. I was carrying my camera, as I nearly always do when I travel, and the scene stopped me immediately. A long enclosed passageway narrowed toward a bright opening at the far end, where a seated airport attendant was momentarily framed against the light. The balance was there for only a second, so I raised the camera and made the photograph before the silhouette changed.
What first pulled me in was the geometry. The dark metal walls, repeated vertical panels, reflective ceiling, narrow strips of light, and converging floor lines create a deep tunnel that leads directly toward the figure. That strong architectural structure gives the image a natural place within my Street Photography Wall Art collection, even though the setting is more transitional than a traditional street. The human presence is what turns the corridor from an empty piece of airport architecture into a lived moment.
The figure sits slightly right of center, head lowered, body compressed into a small folding chair. Against the scale of the passageway, the person becomes visually small but emotionally present. The long foreground increases the distance between viewer and subject, while the brighter area behind the chair gives the silhouette just enough separation from the surrounding darkness. Reflections along the walls and ceiling repeat the light in subtle bands, reinforcing the sense of depth without distracting from the person.
I chose black and white because color would have competed with what mattered most to me here: light, repetition, scale, posture, and timing. The deepest shadows remain deliberately dark, while the central floor and far end of the corridor provide the tonal path through the photograph.
This photograph is offered as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed, includes a certificate of authenticity, and is produced with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper. I see it working especially well in contemporary, minimalist, industrial, or modern interiors where strong geometry and restrained monochrome tones have room to breathe.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
