A Rounded Car Front Within the Narrow Street
The car faces the camera directly, its rounded bonnet and circular headlights filling much of the view. The green paint has dulled and worn, while the chrome bumper and grille still catch the light. Behind it, a narrow Havana street continues between pale walls, balconies and small figures in the distance.
I like the close relationship between the vehicle and its setting. Cobblestones lead beneath the front wheels, and the curb runs tightly beside the car on the right. The split windscreen gives the upper portion a clear symmetry, while the lower metalwork has more irregular surfaces and reflections. The street beyond prevents the image from becoming only a car portrait.
I photographed this scene in Cuba in 2017. A distant dome appears through the gap between the buildings, offering a small point of brightness above the darker car. Weathered plaster, windows and balcony frames add detail along the sides. The muted green bodywork belongs naturally within those softer wall colours, rather than standing out through a bright finish.

From farther away, the rounded front is the main shape; a closer look reveals the worn paint, reflective metal and cobbled ground. For me, those layers give the photograph its character: an old car encountered within an ordinary city street.
