Church Spire And City Lights Beneath Storm Clouds
There is a density to this view of Rosemount in Northern Ireland that I find especially effective in black and white. Rooftops, houses, trees, roads, streetlights, and the tall Gothic church spire build layer upon layer across the frame, while the enormous cloud-filled sky presses down over the city.
I framed the photograph broadly enough to let the neighborhood reveal itself rather than isolating a single landmark. The church spire rises above the surrounding buildings on the right, immediately giving the composition a strong vertical counterpoint to the long horizontal sweep of houses. Below it, the road curves through the center of the scene, carrying the eye from the foreground deeper into Rosemount.
The small points of artificial light are an important part of the photograph. Streetlights and illuminated windows scatter across the darker rooftops, some forming sharp starbursts against the surrounding tones. They give this Northern Ireland wall art photography a sense of evening activity even though the streets themselves appear remarkably quiet.
Above everything is the sky. Heavy clouds occupy almost half the photograph, with brighter breaks appearing between darker masses of weather. Converting the scene to black and white emphasizes those tonal differences and allows the architecture, lights, roads, and cloud formations to work together without competing color. In the foreground, the grassy slope and dark trees create another layer before the city begins, adding depth to an already complex scene.
What interests me most is the balance between the ordinary residential landscape and the architecture that rises above it. Individual houses seem small within the larger city, yet every roof, window, lamp, and street contributes to the structure of the photograph. The result is less about one building than about the character of an entire neighborhood seen from a distance.
I offer this photograph as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is produced with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper, personally signed by me, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Its wide composition and restrained black-and-white palette can work particularly well in contemporary, traditional, or architectural interiors, while collectors with a connection to Northern Ireland may recognize something more personal in the layered urban landscape. For those drawn to cities photographed through atmosphere, architecture, and changing light, this image belongs naturally within my cityscape wall art photography.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
