Smoke Rises Above Weathered Timber Roofs And Fences
What draws me into this rural scene in Moldova-Sulița, Suceava, Romania is the way the farm buildings seem to fit into the hillside rather than sit apart from it. Weathered timber walls, irregular wooden roofs, corrugated metal, brick chimneys, and a long pale fence form a dense band of architecture across the center of the photograph. Above them, the land rises into dark woodland and open pasture where two cattle appear almost as small marks against the slope.
There is a wonderful amount of detail here, but the photograph never depends on one object alone. The large wooden barn at the left catches the strongest light, while darker structures step gradually across the frame. Thin smoke lifting from the chimneys softens all of those hard rooflines and gives the scene the quiet evidence of daily rural life. It is this relationship between the buildings, animals, hillside, and smoke that places the photograph naturally within my Romanian wall art photography collection.
I kept the color deliberately restrained. The faded reddish roof, gray timber, pale fencing, brown earth, and subdued green landscape belong to the same muted palette. Nothing feels polished or newly made. Surfaces show age, use, repair, and exposure to the elements, from the uneven roof shingles to the vertical boards and corrugated panels. Even the cow standing near the lower-left edge becomes part of the structure of the photograph, grounding the farmstead while the distant animals extend the scene farther into the landscape.
For me, this photograph is as much about rural architecture as it is about place. The repeating roof shapes and fence lines create order, yet every building remains slightly different. It has the character I look for in older working landscapes, where practicality produces its own kind of visual rhythm.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
