Peggy’s Cove Village Homes Black and White Coastal Wall Art
Overlapping Rooflines Beneath a Heavy Coastal Sky
A small house sits low in the foreground, with larger homes gathered behind it beneath a cloudy sky. Their rooflines overlap, making the village feel compact without hiding the individual shapes of the buildings. I photographed this view at Peggy’s Cove in 2014, looking at the homes and rocky ground rather than turning toward the ocean.
The nearest house gives the picture a clear starting point. Its dark roof contrasts with pale siding, and small windows sit close together beneath the peak. Behind it, the buildings rise in layers, with different roof angles and window arrangements repeating across the scene. Fine utility wires cross the right side, adding an everyday detail to the simple geometry.
I like how the foreground keeps the setting from becoming purely architectural. Grass and low plants grow around exposed rock, their irregular textures contrasting with the straight boards and tidy roof edges. In black and white, those differences are easy to follow. The darker cloud band above the houses gives weight to the sky, while the light walls keep the village visible below it.
This Peggy’s Cove wall art brings a quieter view of the Nova Scotia community into a home. It suits a coastal living room, hallway or study, especially where you prefer restrained tones to bright seaside colour. The photograph’s character comes from the relationship between the houses and the ground they occupy: familiar domestic forms settled among rock, vegetation and a broad grey sky.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
