Green Pond Leaves And Reflections Algonquin Park Nature Photography
Bright Leaves Rising Above Their Reflections In Still Water
A small group of leaves rises from the water in this close view from Algonquin Park. I photographed them in 2014, drawn to the way their upright stems and curved shapes repeat in the pond below. The leaves are bright enough to stand apart from the darker background, with one yellow-green leaf adding a warm accent near the right side. Such a small patch of a pond can hold a surprisingly complete composition.
The reflections give each leaf a second shape, gently altered by the water’s surface. Fine veins remain visible in several of them, while submerged stems and a long diagonal branch add another layer beneath. I like how the photograph lets the eye move between what is above the water and what can be seen through it. The surface is calm enough for those details to remain clear, but the surrounding textures keep the image from feeling too exact or polished.
Green dominates the scene, from the vivid near leaves to the softer, darker vegetation beyond. Small changes towards yellow bring variety within that limited palette. I kept the focus on the plants and their immediate setting, allowing the farther background to soften around them. As botanical wall art, this photograph suits someone who enjoys close studies of nature and the quiet patterns found beside water. In a bedroom, living room or cottage, it offers fresh colour and fine detail without a crowded landscape, inviting attention to leaves, stems and their mirrored forms.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
