Here we have an image of a large rock wall with a rough surface at the side of the highway in Maine. The granite stone has a beautiful texture and shades of reds, yellows, and orange. Furthermore, the rock wall has natural cracks creating a beautiful abstract background texture.
Urban graffiti on a natural stone wall
What draws me to this image is the addition of the random spray-painted graffiti on the lower section of the giant wall. The cryptic messages and childish scribbling from kids have been on the cliff wall for decades. No, I do not condone the spray painting of our natural environment. Still, I do like the urban connection of the wild wall and the people that have interacted with it, albeit in a delinquent manner. The result is an abstract color and texture work of art.
