Old Motorcycle in Barcelona

I shot this photo nearly 20 years ago on the streets of Barcelona. An old motorcycle was parked on the pavement—its seat barely hanging on, the headlight cracked, the gas tank dented and scratched like it had rolled downhill. And yet, its owner still locked it up and walked away, a point of pride almost, even in disrepair  .

I framed the shot tight on the front of the bike, letting the rear fall out of focus. That blur draws your attention to detail: the patina, the worn textures, the mechanics that still look functional despite everything. The light was harsh midday sun—no studio filter, no posed setup—just the authentic grit of city life.

This image lives in the intersection of abandoned and alive. The bike should have been scrapped. Instead, it’s parked and chained—against the backdrop of a living city. It belongs to someone; it has a story—but I only captured the moment when it paused, rigid and real. That’s what this photo offers to your wall: form, texture, and a story you don’t need to tell.

If you’re drawn to images that show personality in objects and places, you’ll find more in my Spain Photography Collection. It’s packed with moments like this—authentic, unposed, and rooted in real streets and real experience.

Each print is made and signed by hand in my studio, and what you see is exactly what I shot back then: real photography, captured on location, preserved by hand.

Edition Information

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered edition of 10 prints across all available sizes. Each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist on the reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Once all 10 prints have been sold, this work will be permanently retired, and no further numbered editions will be produced in any size or format. A small number of Artist Proofs may be retained by the artist for archival or exhibition purposes.

Museum Quality Fine Art Prints

All prints are produced by the artist using archival pigment inks on professional photographic paper with a subtle luster finish.

This paper offers a balanced surface that enhances tonal depth, preserves fine detail, and reduces glare under typical indoor lighting conditions.

Each print is carefully inspected prior to dispatch to ensure consistency of finish and presentation.

Free Worldwide Delivery

Each print is personally produced, signed, and packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.

Orders are shipped worldwide via Canada Post at no additional cost. Delivery times may vary based on destination and local customs processing.

During periods of travel for on-location photographic work, dispatch may be delayed until I return to the studio.
