Monument Valley West Mitten Butte and East Mitten Butte at dusk
The ancient, rugged, and magnificent landscape of Monument Valley straddles the state line between Utah and Arizona. Not every day, you come across something as extraordinary as the towering sandstone mounds that dot this desert landscape.
This fine art landscape photo print depicts the West and East Mitten Buttes, also known simply as the Mittens, just after the sun has set and a warm glow barely illuminates the tranquil desert. The buttes are called mittens because they resemble two enormous mittens with thumbs turned inward.
These two prominent Utah desert landmarks are the eroded remains of their Rocky Mountain relatives, which were initially produced by sandstone deposits and geologic uplift and subsequently molded by wind and water over eons of time. West Mitten Butte is 1,882 meters in height, whereas East Mitten Butte is 1,898 meters in height.

As the creator, I personally print, sign, and package every print at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario. These prints are then shipped worldwide via Canada Post free of charge. Therefore, delivery times can vary based on location, anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
Additionally, when traveling and shooting on location, orders placed during these periods will be dispatched upon my return. This may result in delivery times extending to several weeks. However, rest assured that the wait for these unique pieces is well worth it!
