Buenos Aires Modern Building Edge Black and White Abstract Photography

A Narrow Facade Against an Expanse of Open Sky

Most of this Buenos Aires photograph is sky. The office building occupies a narrow section on the right, its edge rising through the frame with small changes in angle and depth. I photographed that limited part of the architecture rather than the full building, giving its outline room to become the main subject.

The facade is divided into panels, with finer lines crossing the larger vertical surfaces. Near the upper section, a projecting structural element creates a sharper change in shape. Elsewhere, the divisions are quieter and more repetitive. My eye follows those lines upwards, then returns to the broad area beside them. The open space is as important to the composition as the building itself.

Black and white keeps the view restrained. The sky holds a soft range of greys, while darker seams and shaded edges make the architecture more distinct. I like the slight differences in brightness across the panels; they prevent the facade from becoming a single flat strip. There are no people, street signs or neighbouring buildings to interrupt the close relationship between structure and sky.

This is the kind of architectural detail I enjoy for its simplicity. It offers enough information to recognise a modern building, while leaving its overall shape outside the frame. The photograph asks for attention to proportion, line and the amount of space around a subject. A small section of the city becomes a quiet, almost abstract view.

About My Fine Art Photography

Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.

I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.

My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
