Headlights And Light Trails Across A Crowded Night Street
I made this black-and-white photograph on the Las Vegas Strip, turning one of the city's most ordinary realities—traffic—into the entire visual structure of the frame. Cars crowd the roadway from edge to edge, their headlights exploding into sharp starbursts while longer exposures from moving vehicles cut bright diagonal trails through the darkness. There is no single automobile meant to dominate the photograph. The traffic itself becomes the subject.
What caught my attention was the contrast between movement and near-gridlock. Some vehicles appear almost fixed in place, packed tightly together, while other lanes dissolve into continuous bands of white light. That mixture gives the scene an unsettled rhythm that fits naturally within my night street photography collection. The pavement below catches fragments of the headlights and throws them back as broken vertical reflections, while the upper part of the frame becomes increasingly dense with cars, glare, chrome, and overlapping lines.
I chose a dramatic black-and-white treatment because color would have competed with the geometry. Stripped of the neon and saturated hues normally associated with Las Vegas, the Strip becomes something harder and more graphic. Deep blacks separate the illuminated vehicles from the surrounding darkness, and the repeated headlights form a pattern that pulls the eye from the center of the traffic toward the sweeping light trails in the upper right. Palm silhouettes remain visible along the edge of the scene, giving just enough sense of place without turning the photograph into a conventional Las Vegas postcard.
As wall art, this photograph has a strong urban presence without depending on recognizable casinos or famous architecture. I can see it working particularly well for collectors drawn to black-and-white street photography, transportation imagery, contemporary city scenes, or the less polished side of Las Vegas after dark. The combination of deep shadows, hard white light, reflective pavement, and dense traffic also gives it enough visual weight to hold its own at larger print sizes.
I offer this photograph as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed by me, produced with archival pigment inks on premium archival paper, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
