Large abandoned hanger at Whalers Bay Station Antarctica | Limited Edition of 10
Abandoned Hanger - Whalers Bay, Deception Island, Antarctica
Delve into the heart of Antarctica, where the remnants of a once-bustling whale oil factory nestle on the icy landscape of Deception Island. This photograph captures an aged hangar, its corroded exterior bearing the scars of harsh Antarctic conditions. The starkness of the man-made structure against the island's pristine beauty creates a striking contrast. Deception Island, a mere 15 kilometers south of Livingston Island, boasts a diameter of nearly 13 kilometers and reaches a height of 602 meters at Mount Pond. The image portrays isolation, the abandoned factory whispering tales of a prosperous industry now lost to time.
