Blue Mosque at Twilight: An Istanbul Journey Through Dan Kosmayer's Lens
The photograph captures the renowned Blue Mosque of Istanbul, Turkey in the embrace of twilight. The Mosque, also recognized as the Mosque of Ahmed I or Sultan Ahmed Cami, is an architectural marvel from the early 17th century. Constructed over a span of seven years from 1609 to 1616, the mosque's distinct features include six minarets, two of which stand slightly lower on the outer corners. Its name, the Blue Mosque, springs from the intricate decorations of ceramic tiles painted in shades of blue and white.
