Blue Doors and Tiled Roofs Follow a Sunlit Cobbled Street

The colours along this Trinidad street are what first bring the scene to life: pale green walls, blue doors, yellow fronts and small red accents beneath weathered tile roofs. I photographed the houses in Cuba with the cobbled street leading into the distance and mountains rising beyond the town. This colour street photography print holds both the architectural rhythm and the ordinary details of life beside it.

The nearest house has a bright blue door and barred window, with a stack of wood placed along the low pavement. Further down, two people add a human scale to the row of buildings. Strong sunlight makes the colours clear and creates a scalloped shadow below the roof tiles. Across the road, deeper shade falls over the rough cobbles. I like how those shadows give the street texture while the repeating doors and windows keep the view connected.

I made this photograph in 2017. Looking at it, I am drawn to the way each house has its own colour but still belongs to the same continuous street. The mountain shapes and clouded blue sky give a quieter background to that lively row. For someone who loves Cuban places, travel photographs or homes with distinctive character, this print can bring warmth to a living room or study. For me, the appeal lies in seeing a place through its everyday surfaces and small moments, where the colours are memorable but the details keep the image interesting.
