Silver Inlet Blue General Store by the Water Colour Photography
A Red Door and White Windows on a Lakeside Store
The blue general store at Silver Inlet stands almost square to the camera, its white-trimmed windows arranged beneath a steep roof. A red door and a simple STORE sign give the facade its strongest colour accents. I photographed the building in colour, drawn to that direct, balanced view and the water visible on either side.
The timber siding carries several shades of blue, with weathered areas giving it a softer texture. Upstairs, the smaller windows repeat across the broad front. Below, larger shop windows hold pale curtains, and flower containers line the wooden platform. Those details make the building feel welcoming without requiring the scene to be busy.
Around the store, smaller elements establish the setting. An old pump stands to the left, a bicycle rests on the right, and evergreens rise beside the water behind the building. The open gravel foreground gives the facade room to remain the central subject. Above, the clear sky leaves its roofline easy to follow.
Made in 2021, this photograph offers a quiet portrait of a recognisable Ontario general store. What interests me is the combination of simple geometry and everyday detail: the repeated windows, the red doorway, the worn boards and the small objects around them.
For someone who enjoys Silver Inlet, nostalgic storefronts or Canadian travel photography, this image can bring colour and a sense of place to a kitchen, hallway or study. The blue facade is clear from a distance, while the curtains, flowers and waterfront setting reward a closer look.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
