Gaudi Building Folding Bathroom Mirror Black and White Photography
Hinged Glass Panels Above a Circular Metal Tray
The folding mirror caught my attention while I was visiting a Gaudí-designed building in Spain. Standing beside the bathtub, it has the presence of a small mechanical object within the washroom. Hinged rectangular panels turn at different angles above a slender pedestal and round metal tray. I photographed the detail closely because its construction and reflections offered more to explore than a broader view of the room would have shown.
The mirror divides the surrounding interior into separate fragments. A toilet, tiled floor and parts of the bathtub appear through or around its panels, but their softened outlines remain secondary to the metal frames. The overlap of straight edges produces a compact arrangement of rectangles and diagonals. Beneath them, the circular tray introduces a contrasting shape, with small metal instruments resting on its surface.
I chose black and white to concentrate on metal, glass, reflection and geometry. Bright edges pick out the mirror’s structure against the quieter background, while the pale bathtub provides a larger curved form on the right. The vertical photograph follows the stand downward without losing the hinged panels above.
This is the kind of interior detail I notice when exploring architecture. A building can reveal its character through a particular object as well as through its facade. For someone interested in vintage washrooms, unusual furnishings or reflected spaces, this print offers an architectural subject that becomes more intricate on closer inspection.
