Streamlined Form Meets Early Automotive Innovation

This Cord roadster stopped me cold. It wasn’t moving, but it had a presence—like it was still in motion even while standing still. The clean curves, the layered louvres, the way the windshield cut forward like a blade—everything about this 1936 design felt deliberate.

Cord wasn’t just making cars. They were pushing boundaries. The 810 and 812 series brought front-wheel drive, hidden headlights, and that unmistakable “coffin nose” to the road—all in the middle of the Great Depression. This car didn’t follow trends. It redefined them.

I shot this in black and white to draw out the geometry—the symmetry of the hood, the chrome reflections, the way light slides off the surface. You don’t need colour when the shape speaks for itself. There’s no filter here, no fake drama. What you see is what I saw.

Real photography matters. Especially now. When everything can be stitched together in software or dreamt up with a prompt, I still believe in standing in front of something real. I was waiting for the light to hit just right in honouring the subjects that have their own story and don’t need one invented for them.

Every print I offer is signed and hand-printed in my studio. I don’t outsource. I don’t automate. Each piece is made with care and meant to last.

Edition Information

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered edition of 10 prints across all available sizes. Each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist on the reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Once all 10 prints have been sold, this work will be permanently retired, and no further numbered editions will be produced in any size or format. A small number of Artist Proofs may be retained by the artist for archival or exhibition purposes.

Museum Quality Fine Art Prints

All prints are produced by the artist using archival pigment inks on professional photographic paper with a subtle luster finish.

This paper offers a balanced surface that enhances tonal depth, preserves fine detail, and reduces glare under typical indoor lighting conditions.

Each print is carefully inspected prior to dispatch to ensure consistency of finish and presentation.

Free Worldwide Delivery

Each print is personally produced, signed, and packaged by me at my studio in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.

Orders are shipped worldwide via Canada Post at no additional cost. Delivery times may vary based on destination and local customs processing.

During periods of travel for on-location photographic work, dispatch may be delayed until I return to the studio.
