Layered Rows Of Homes Across A Northern Irish Hillside
From an elevated viewpoint in Rosemount, Northern Ireland, I photographed a neighborhood that seems to unfold in layers. Rows of houses stretch across the frame, one behind another, their tiled rooftops, chimneys, narrow streets, trees, and larger buildings gradually climbing toward the distant ridge. There is no single architectural centerpiece here. The city itself is the subject.
What first interested me was the repetition. Roof after roof, wall after wall, the geometry keeps changing while still holding together as one dense urban pattern. The lower portion of the photograph begins with rough paving, grass, railings, and a long roofline before the view opens into the streets beyond. That foreground gives the image depth and makes the viewer feel positioned above the neighborhood rather than simply looking at a distant skyline.
It is the kind of scene that defines my Northern Ireland wall art, not a famous landmark or polished postcard view, but a lived-in place seen as it actually exists. The black and white treatment strips away competing color and allows the shapes of the buildings, repeating rooflines, pale foliage, streets, and darker architectural forms to become much more prominent.
I especially like how the eye can wander through this photograph. There are small roads disappearing between buildings, clusters of trees breaking up the hard geometry, different styles of housing, and subtle changes in elevation that keep revealing another layer of the neighborhood. From a distance it reads as a cityscape; viewed more closely, it becomes a collection of individual structures and small visual details.
As wall art, this photograph has a strong horizontal presence and works particularly well for someone drawn to architectural photography, Northern Ireland, dense urban landscapes, or black and white imagery with substantial detail. Its broad composition also suits spaces where a panoramic sense of place can be appreciated from both across the room and at closer viewing distance.
I offer this photograph as a limited edition of only 10 prints. Each print is personally signed by me and includes a certificate of authenticity. I print the image using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper, preserving the fine tonal separation and architectural detail throughout the photograph.

This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
