Vintage Bus With Jasper Sign Monochrome Transportation Photography
Rounded Windscreens and Folding Chairs Between Close Wooden Buildings
The front of this old bus filled a narrow space between wooden buildings when I photographed it in 2011. A Jasper sign sits below the rounded windscreens, and two folding chairs stand close to the bumper. I kept those details together in a mostly monochrome view, showing the bus as I found it within its immediate surroundings.
Its curved roof, riveted panels, and paired lights make a distinctive face. The open door on the left extends that rounded shape, while the windows catch fragments of nearby foliage and structure. Light picks out the metal unevenly, revealing marks and changes across the surface. On the right, the pale building presses close to the bus, its tall windows and siding forming straighter lines beside the vehicle's curves.
I stood in that small space and studied how the different shapes fitted within the frame. The chairs bring an ordinary human scale to the front of the bus without anyone needing to be present. Behind it, rooflines and trees complete the setting, while a patch of ground remains open in the foreground. What interests me most is the meeting of a vehicle built for travel with the close, settled arrangement around it. The destination lettering remains easy to read, but the photograph also invites a slower look at the window shapes, worn metal, and narrow space on either side.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
