A Low Sun and Golden Light Across the Pacific
The sun holds its shape clearly above the Pacific in this Los Angeles sunset photograph. I kept the composition open, with an orange sky above a low horizon and textured waves below. Three small birds cross near the sun, adding a brief note of movement to the broad view.
What I enjoy here is how differently the light appears in the sky and on the water. Above the horizon, the colour is almost continuous, gathering around the bright disc of the sun. Below it, the same warmth breaks into uneven bands as the waves catch the light. Those ripples keep the sea from becoming a flat dark strip, and give the photograph a surface the eye can explore.
I gave the sky more space than the water so that the sun could remain the clear focal point. The birds are small enough to leave that balance intact, yet noticeable once you look a little closer. They give the open sky a sense of scale. Together, the simple horizon and the moving water make a coastal picture that feels both steady and alive. This is the warmth of a California evening held in a few strong elements: sun, sea, and the light between them. For a living room, office, or a space connected with the coast, the print brings a concentrated golden colour without needing a busy scene.
