A Flock Scattered Across The Romanian Hillside
A flock of sheep spreads across a steep pasture outside Brașov, Romania, while the countryside keeps unfolding behind them. Some of the animals stand close to the rough wooden fence, several face toward me, and one grazes alone farther down the slope. Beyond them are layered fields, scattered houses, clusters of trees, and mountain ridges stretching across the horizon. It is the kind of rural scene that immediately belongs within my Romanian landscape wall art, but what interested me most was the relationship between the small flock and the enormous amount of land surrounding it.
The diagonal hillside gives the photograph much of its movement. The fence follows the slope, cutting through the foreground before disappearing toward the valley, while the sheep create irregular points of light against the darker grass and woodland. Nothing is arranged too neatly. Some animals bunch together, others separate from the flock, and those small differences keep my eye moving through the foreground before the landscape takes over.
I chose black and white for this photograph because color was not what held the scene together. The pale wool, weathered fence rails, grassy pasture, dark patches of forest, distant fields, and soft mountain ridges all work through changes in tone and texture. The farther the landscape recedes, the quieter those tones become. That gradual transition gives the photograph its depth without relying on dramatic weather or exaggerated contrast.
There are also details that reveal themselves slowly: tiny rural buildings scattered across the hills, narrow divisions between fields, isolated trees, and the uneven patterns created by working farmland. From a distance, the flock is the immediate subject. At closer viewing, the Romanian countryside becomes increasingly important.
I see this photograph working particularly well for someone drawn to rural landscapes, mountain country, agriculture, or black-and-white photography with a quieter visual presence. Its neutral palette also makes it well suited to contemporary, rustic, or traditional interiors without losing the character of the actual place.

Limited Edition of 10
This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.
Premium Archival Fine Art Prints
I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.
