Saigon Skyline Fireworks Black and White Photography
Bright Bursts Above Bitexco Tower and the Nighttime City
I spent the afternoon looking for a view that could hold the city as well as the fireworks. Eventually I photographed from a rooftop roughly thirty floors above Saigon's streets. This black and white image, made in 2026, keeps the dense skyline beneath bright bursts spreading across the dark sky.
I worked handheld as the display changed over the buildings, making roughly a thousand photographs. The selection afterward took careful looking. I wanted a frame where the fireworks occupied enough of the sky to matter without overwhelming the architecture below. This arrangement gave both parts of the scene room to remain clear.
Bitexco Financial Tower rises on the left, its tapered form separating it from the surrounding buildings. The larger fireworks open farther right, with smaller bursts closer to the horizon. Tightly grouped roofs and illuminated windows make a detailed base beneath them. That contrast between the city's density and the open darkness above gives the photograph its scale.
Monochrome brings the display and building lights into the same visual language. The firework trails appear as fine bright lines, while the towers and lower rooftops remain solid shapes. I like how the image can first be seen as a nighttime skyline, then explored through the many points of light within it. The rooftop search and the later selection were both about making a photograph of Saigon during the display, rather than a view of fireworks with an interchangeable background.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
