Shibuya Vodka and Martini Graffiti Wall VI Colour Photography
White Vodka Lettering Beside a Sketched Martini Glass
White vodka lettering and a simple martini glass give this Shibuya graffiti photograph an unusually clear focal point. I found them within a stairwell wall in Tokyo, surrounded by a dense spread of turquoise, pink, green, yellow, and orange paint. The large pale shapes stand out immediately, while fine writing and smaller drawings continue across every part of the background.
I discovered the staircase while moving between floors of shops and restaurants. As I worked through different sections of the wall, this combination caught my eye because it was easy to recognize without losing the energy around it. I framed the lettering toward the left and the glass toward the right, allowing the surrounding marks to fill the spaces between and beneath them. The wall’s rough texture shows through the white paint, so even the boldest shapes remain part of the same layered surface.
For me, the photograph balances a playful central detail with the slower pleasure of exploring colour and line. The glass is only a few strokes, but its outline holds its own against the crowd of overlapping names and gestures. Looking longer brings out more small shapes, and the strong lettering becomes one element among many. This is the sixth image in my Shibuya stairwell series, preserving the section as I encountered it with my camera. For someone drawn to colourful graffiti photography or urban art with a bar-related motif, it offers an energetic view of an actual Tokyo wall, where a simple drawing becomes the anchor for a much more complicated composition.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
