Timeworn Buenos Aires Facade With Doors, Windows, and Shadow
Some buildings quietly tell their stories if you slow down long enough to notice them. This one caught my attention in Buenos Aires for exactly that reason. At first glance, it is simply a row of doors and tall windows framed by brick and plaster, but the longer I stood there, the more the textures began to reveal themselves. Layers of age show up in the worn wood panels, cracked paint, and uneven glass panes that have clearly witnessed decades of daily life.
What makes this scene compelling to me is the repetition—four tall openings run across the facade in a rhythm that feels almost architectural and musical at once. The narrow wooden frames divide the glass into dozens of small panes, each reflecting light differently. Some sections are clouded, others scratched, and a few are nearly opaque with time. The symmetry of the structure gives the image a sense of order, while the weathered surfaces add just enough imperfection to keep it human.
Photographing architecture like this in black and white allows the textures to become the main subject. Without color competing for attention, the eye naturally moves through the frame following lines, shapes, and contrast. The rough brick on the outer edges frames the smoother plaster center, while the dark doors anchor the composition at the bottom. Subtle shadows from the midday sun cut across the upper windows, adding another layer of depth.
I photographed this scene while walking the streets of Buenos Aires, camera in hand, doing what I often do when exploring a city—watching closely for small details most people pass by. Cities reveal themselves in fragments like this. A doorway. A facade. A window was left slightly open. Moments that feel ordinary in person can become quietly powerful once framed and isolated.
I personally sign each limited edition print and include a certificate of authenticity confirming its place in the edition. The photograph is produced using archival pigment inks to preserve the tonal depth of the black-and-white textures and is printed with care to ensure the subtle detail in the wood grain, glass, and brick remains intact.
This piece works particularly well in interiors that appreciate architectural character. Offices, living spaces, or hallways often benefit from images that carry structure and visual rhythm, and the repeating doors and windows create a calm but interesting focal point. This photograph is released as a signed and numbered limited edition of only 10 prints in total across all available sizes combined—not 10 prints in each size.
Every size is drawn from the same edition. Whether the photograph is purchased as a small print or at the largest available size, it uses one of the 10 edition numbers.
I personally sign and number each print on the reverse, and every print is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity recording its title, dimensions, medium, edition number, and date of issue.
Once all 10 prints have been sold, the edition will be permanently closed. No additional numbered editions of the photograph will be produced in another size or format.

I personally produce every photograph using archival pigment inks on premium archival paper with a subtle luster finish.
The paper provides rich tonal depth, excellent fine-detail reproduction, and a refined surface that reduces distracting glare under normal indoor lighting. It is especially well suited to both color and black-and-white photography.
Each photograph is sold as an unframed fine art print, allowing it to be framed according to the collector’s space and personal style.
Before a print leaves my studio, I carefully inspect it for color, tonal accuracy, surface quality, and overall presentation. Nothing is outsourced, and every finished print passes through my hands.

Worldwide delivery is included in the listed price, so there is no additional shipping charge added during checkout. I select an appropriate tracked delivery service based on the destination, print size, and current shipping requirements.
Delivery times vary by destination and may be affected by customs processing or circumstances beyond my control.
Because I also travel extensively to create new photographic work, studio dispatch may occasionally be delayed while I am away. When that happens, the print will be produced and shipped as soon as I return to the studio.
