Blue Columns Leading Along a Row of Porches

The blue columns are the first thing I notice in this Cuban street photograph. They stand close to the camera, with a matching low railing and pale yellow wall behind them. Farther along the pavement, green, cream and muted red columns repeat the same architectural rhythm in different colours.

The nearest porch holds more detail than its bright colour suggests. Ornamental capitals sit above the columns, a metal window grille adds a fine pattern to the wall, and small patches of worn paint show at the base. Sunlight casts narrow shadows across the blue surfaces. I like how these details keep the scene grounded in the buildings themselves rather than making colour the only subject.

I photographed this view in Cuba in 2017. The pavement carries the eye toward the left distance, while the porches remain close along the right. Their repeated columns create a strong sense of depth, with each colour marking another small section of the row. The open strip of sky above the far end gives the street room without interrupting the architecture.

This colourful Cuba wall art brings blue, yellow and softer pastels to a living room, hallway or creative space. For me, the appeal lies in the balance between repetition and difference: similar porches along one street, each with its own paint, railings and signs of wear.
