Tall Columns Frame Ornate Balconies and Marble Floors
Pale green walls and repeated columns define this interior view of Hotel Raquel in Havana, Cuba. I discovered the hotel while exploring the city and moved through its main floor, where the open atrium offered a different architectural view from the surrounding streets. The photograph looks along one side of the space, with a tall column close to the camera and smaller columns receding toward the back.
Above the floor, ornate balcony rails repeat around the atrium in light green and warm cream tones. A portion of the stained glass ceiling remains visible at the top, introducing small areas of brighter colour. I enjoy how the decorative details sit within such a clear arrangement of levels and supports. The nearest fluted column provides a strong vertical line, while the balcony edges carry the eye around the open interior.
The marble floor occupies a broad part of the foreground, reflecting some of the light from above. Low rails enclose openings within the floor, and potted plants add darker green forms near the walls. Hanging lamps follow the corridor on the right, continuing the sense of depth established by the columns.
My photograph brings the room’s colour and structure together without isolating a single decorative feature. For someone interested in Cuban interiors or detailed hotel architecture, this print offers a spacious view with many smaller elements to discover. Its green palette and warm ornament make the image distinct within a collection of architectural photographs.
